EE Magazine Editorial January 2017 – EE’s Activities and Offerings

By George Pór for Enlivening Edge Magazine

The New Year is a good time not just for resolutions, but also for reckoning, for a moment of re-calibrating what is really important, what we want for our precious life as individuals and organizations, and what mission keeps our attention. 2017 brought this re-articulation of the mission of Enlivening Edge:

Boosting the emergent collective intelligence, consciousness, and impact of the ecosystem of next-stage organizations and initiatives, until they become the new mainstream of organizing work.

Do you wonder how we are going to live up to all those big words? Not without you, and not suddenly from one day to the next. It’s an ongoing, gradual process in which we observe how the ecosystem is growing–although we might not always see the forest for the trees! One of the nice things about working in a Teal media organization is getting a better overview of what is happening in the field. Then it’s our responsibility to feed back to you what we see, so ecosystem growth is facilitated by receiving our observations of its growth.

Enlivening Edge itself has grown beyond curating news and observations, beyond being only EE Magazine. Thanks to passionate members in our community, we are also sourcing and supporting various projects. Here are a few examples: our soon-coming Spanish edition, the first EE-sponsored workshop on Teal writing, our monthly Community Conversations, and the Next-Stage World gathering of organization reinventors, next April, co-sponsored by EE.

You can even get a sneak preview of materials that will become the source of another EE-sponsored workshop, currently on the drawing board, about LifeWork Mapping, which you could find useful if you juggle many roles in your worklife.

We’re also expanding EE Magazine’s coverage of other strands in the fabric of the broader movements of radical organizational innovation, in addition to the one inspired by Frederic Laloux’s Reinventing Organizations book. See for example a video of the Responsive Conference or our article on the 7 movements that are shaping the future of work.

We have also brought back the popular “Teal Buzz” section of the Magazine: various snippets and tidbits from social media, such as a fascinating conversation exploring the conditions under which the movement of Reinventing Organizations could become mainstream.

We also very much appreciate your comments on any of our articles, or anything you want to share with us.

New: Receive notification of EE Magazine articles in “digest” style!

We recently made improvements to email notifications sent when a new article is published. Notifications have been one at a time, in real-time. The benefits of the new “digest” approach include improved visual design and fewer emails, since you will now receive a single email when multiple articles are published on the same day. The change will also enable us to support new article notifications by different languages, once we have articles in multiple languages. (Coming soon!)

If you currently receive the old individual-article notifications, which do not include any graphics and only link to a single article, we highly recommend that you unsubscribe from the old format (which is going to be discontinued) and sign up for the new format.
